Atomic digital alarm clocks set themselves to the United States Government National Institute of Standards and Technology radio station, WWVB, in Ft. Collins, Colorado. The radio station transmits highly accurate time information. Atomic digital alarm clocks are radio controlled and receive this signal when they can, and set themselves. All atomic alarm clock will maintain time accurate to a fraction of a second as long as they are placed in a location where they can receive the signal. However, like any radio receiver however, the atomic digital alarm clock may not be able to receive the signalin certain circumstances such as:  if they are in a building with a lot of steel in the structure, near computers or cordless phones that may generate interference, or if the weather is unsuitable.

In the olden days, people did not follow the same calendar that we do now.  The Gregorian calendar that most countries follow today is a relatively new invention in the course of a long human history.  What people follow now makes sense to us because of how our lives run.

 But in the past, agrarian and goddess devoted peoples followed the cycles of the moon.  Having a moon phase clock harkens back to that time in which we were close to the earth.  We are still controlled by moon cycles but in more subtle ways.  It is great to be aware of what is going on in the universe.

When I was young, I realized that I would need to try to be as organized as possible so that I could stay on top of my tasks.  I have just always been one of those scatter brained people that would loose their head if it weren’t screwed on.

 So in my home, along with some basic organizers and shelves, I have wall clocks in perfect positions throughout the house so that I know what time it is all the time.  I don’t want to be that person who misses their big meeting because of oversight.  I want to be there when I say that I will.
